DESCRIPTION:Come join us at the Library Center in Community Room B to write cards of compassion\, solidarity\, and encouragement to recently released ICE Detainees. SMIA has assembled care packages to support individuals recently released from the Greene County Jail so that they have access to toiletries\, food\, water\, and other items of comfort. We want to add personal\, hand written letters of support to each of these bags so they know they’re not alone. Pens and cards will be provided\, feel free to bring any stickers\, markers or other supplies you’d like to use.

This is a simultaneous national action\, coast to coast\, at concentration camps\, detention facilities\, processing centers\, and county jails where the machinery of this administration’s cruelty operates every single day behind walls and fences and the calculated indifference of people who have decided that some human beings don’t count. \nBut they do count. We’re counting them. And we’re showing up. \nJoin Southern Missouri Immigration Alliance (SMIA)\, 50501 Missouri\, and The ReSisters at the Greene County Jail on Saturday\, April 11th\, at 12pm to demand change and accountability. \nSMIA will be accepting phone charger donations at the event. Phone chargers will be added to the care packages SMIA provides to people who are released from Greene County Jail.
