Volunteer Opportunities
Community Outreach
Our friends and neighbors are being unjustly and cruelly targeted by the immigration policies of the current administration. Fighting back requires our community to be educated on – and aware of – the arrests and deportations that are happening every day, right here in our city. Help us spread the word by canvassing in your neighborhoods, joining protests, and engaging with local businesses.
Research
Did you know that in 2023 undocumented immigrants paid $89.8 billion in federal, state, and local taxes? Did you know that being undocumented is not a criminal offense? Did you know that less than 4% of the people being detained by ICE in the Greene County Jail have a charge of any kind listed?
Facts like these matter – and we’re working to counter the lies being spread in order to justify the unconstitutional and violent incarceration of innocent people. If you’ve got a knack for research, put those skills to work and help us uncover more of the truth.
Direct Support
Impacted communities are especially vulnerable and need our support. People too scared to leave the house may need their groceries delivered. Detainees released without notice may need a place to stay, a fresh change of clothes, and a hot meal until their families can arrive. Children scared to walk to school or take the bus may need someone to take them. Law-abiding immigrants may need someone to accompany them to their immigration hearing , where they are at risk for arrest. There are many ways one single person can make all the difference.
Operational Support
Internal support is crucial for ensuring we remain capable of spreading awareness and supporting those in need. Help us with behind-the-scenes tasks like volunteer intake/onboarding, coordinating direct support, setting up for events, and more.
